Let me just say one
word...SWIMMING POOL!!! Beau and Bailey are on a local swim team, the Blast Stars, so from late April to mid July, we spend 2hrs a day, 5 days a week at the swimming pool! (Which I could not do without the help of my great friend, Misty!!!) When the summer temp is somewhere between 102* and 111*, the only way to survive outside is to keep wet! We make good use of our community pool. In these pictures, our good friend, Greg, is launching Beau and Bailey, and the kids loved it!
Due to our busy schedules and gas prices...our summer vacation consisted of a long weekend in Phoenix. (As if it wasn't hot enough for us in Tucson! haha) We spent the weekend at the Red Mountain Resort (thanks for hooking us up Misty). On one of the days, we went to the SunSplash water park and had a blast on the water slides, in the wave pool and floating down the lazy river! Like I said before...if you are outside in the summer, you must keep wet!
The 4th of July...
is always a summer highlight for our family. Every year we travel to Sierra Vista, about an hour away from Tucson. It's a smaller town, the temps are 10-15* cooler (reason enough to go) and next to Disneyland, they put on the best 4th of July fireworks that we've ever seen! Let me set the scene for you...the location is a big sports complex, with lots of cool, grassy, ball fields, an army band is playing patriotic music, families with their blankets, lawn chairs and coolers are picnicing on the lawn, kids are playing on the grass (because we don't have that in Tucson), all in anticipation for the fireworks that will begin at dark! Doesn't that sound like a scene right out of Mayberry? We always have the greatest time, and we've only been rained out once in the last 6 years. Here are some of our patriotic pictures!
